POSITION SUMMARY: The Station Mechanic is responsible for assisting the maintenance department with plant maintenance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
·Assist with the necessary repairs of equipment, property and the building.
·Maintains accurate communication to other mechanics and departments.
·Supports the basic functions of machinery and equipment.
·Effectively uses electrical testing equipment.
·Responsible to identify opportunities for improvement and to communicate those to supervisor or lead person.
·Initiates and conducts routine preventive maintenance (PM’s) on equipment by self or with minimal supervision.
·Maintain ship 6S policies and cleanliness.
- Other duties as required.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS and BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
·Demonstrated ability to perform basic math skills including: addition, subtraction, division, multiplacation and percentage calculations.
·Demonstrated ability to read, write and speak English
·Ability to pass a Prove It test
·Two years experience in a maintenance field is preferred
·Ability to work with minimal direct supervision.
·Excellent mechanical aptitude and abilities in order to analyze, evaluate and solve mechanical problems.
·Excellent communication skills.
·Experience in the operation of maintenance power tools.
·Knowledge of electrical and mechanical procedures
·Flexibility to work weekends as needed
