As a Software Engineer - DevOps, you'll be at the heart of ensuring smooth integration and deployment of our cutting-edge software solutions. Your duties will include:

Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD workflows to streamline software release processes.
Build and manage scalable, secure, and efficient infrastructure using IaC principles.
Develop scripts to automate provisioning, configuration, monitoring, and operational tasks.
Set up monitoring and logging solutions, respond to incidents, and ensure system performance.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to foster a DevOps culture and resolve technical challenges.
Implement security measures, perform vulnerability assessments, and maintain clear documentation.

Location: Kensington (Perth) WA, or Marsfield (Sydney) NSW

Salary: AU$114,219.00 - AU$123,605.00 plus up to 15.4% superannuation

To be considered you will need:

Essential

Under CSIRO policy only those who meet all essential criteria can be appointed.

A Bachelors or Masters degree relevant to software engineering/computer science, or equivalent work experience.
Proficiency in use of scripting tools for task automation.
Proficiency building and maintaining Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment pipelines.
Experience with containerisation and orchestration (e.g. Docker).
Experience deploying and operating applications in Linux environments.

Desirable:

Experience using Cmake.
Experience in High Performance Computing (HPC) or cloud computing environments.
Experience with software for scientific data processing.
Computer Networking experience.
Interest in astronomy.
