Your Role: Emergency Services Officer
As an Emergency Services Officer, you will be an integral part of Clinton Laboratories' Emergency Services Department, ensuring the safety and security of the facility and its personnel. Your primary responsibilities will include responding to emergency situations, overseeing asset protection services, and conducting routine safety and security operations. You’ll lead and support emergency response efforts and work closely with other departments to maintain a safe and compliant environment.
This position will offer a one-time sign-on bonus of $2,500!
Your Responsibilities:
Emergency Response & Incident Management: Provide immediate response to all emergency situations, including fires, spills, hazardous material releases, rescues, and medical incidents. Act as the emergency response team leader during incidents, managing resources, making decisions, and ensuring safe and effective resolution. Lead and perform fire suppression, spill mitigation, confined space rescue, and medical emergency response operations.
Emergency Equipment Management & Training: Operate and maintain emergency response equipment, including fire trucks, ambulances, rescue rigs, PPE, environmental monitors, and alarm systems. Continuously train and develop proficiency in the use of all emergency response tools, and provide training for other team members. Ensure all equipment is operational and that safety protocols are followed during training and real-life incidents.
Plant Security & Asset Protection: Conduct regular perimeter checks of the plant to ensure security and safety, monitor surveillance systems, and oversee access control procedures. Process incoming traffic, deliveries, and visitors while maintaining a secure environment. Respond to security breaches or violations of site policies, ensuring that emergency services are applied as necessary to protect the plant’s assets and personnel.
Weather & Hazard Monitoring: Continuously monitor environmental conditions, including severe weather in the vicinity of the plant, and provide timely communication regarding potential hazards. Act as the primary resource for severe weather notifications and help ensure that all team members are prepared for emergency weather responses.
Safety & Compliance: Support and enforce site safety policies by explaining plant safety protocols to visitors, contractors, and other personnel. Participate in safety drills and emergency response simulations, ensuring readiness for various potential incidents. Assist in pre-emergency planning and the implementation of safety measures, collaborating with plant representatives and other stakeholders to ensure all safety regulations are met.
What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):
Education: High School Diploma/GED
Required Experience: Prior participation on an emergency response team (Fire Department, Fire Brigade, Hazmat) and experience in emergency services; State of Indiana Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations or International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) Hazmat 1st Responder Awareness/Operations.
Top 2 skills: Leadership in emergency situations, strong written and verbal communication.
Must obtain state of Indiana Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-B or higher) or certification through National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians completion within one year of start.
Must obtain state of Indiana Hazardous Materials Technician or International fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) Hazmat Technician within 2 years of start.
Must obtain state of Indiana Instructor I within 2 years of start.
Must pass a yearly ERT (Emergency Response Team) Medical Panel and quantitative fit test for SCBA (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus).
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications):
Ability to respond to emergency situations in a high-pressure, incident command environment.
Prior experience in training emergency responders and conducting fire safety and rescue drills.
Additional Information:
Location: Clinton, IN Manufacturing Site
Travel: Occasional travel for training (overnight or out of town).
Fixed G Shift (5:00 PM to 5:15 AM), may vary based on business need. Extensive overtime may be required.
Shift Work: Required to work holidays and respond to emergency calls as needed.
Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
This position is a fixed duration employee with a two-year contract, annually renewable for up to 4 years with a potential for a full-time position, based on individual performance and business needs.
